rise of the planet of the apes summary
Well, you can’t make a movie where apes rule the planet without touching upon Darwinian evolution. In January 1964, it was published in the United Kingdom as Monkey Planet by Secker & Warburg of London, then re-issued as Planet of the Apes in August 1973 to tie it in to the film franchise it inspired. That’s mostly what the movie is about, and I was dumb to expect much action, but there’s not much except for the ending. The survivors are taken to zoos or to research labs. The apes get the children out and make it through the tunnel to get away from the camp. “Planet of the Apes” recounts the tale of Ulysse who takes on an intergalactic expedition to an Earth-like planet near the star sun of Betelgeuse.
